Interactive Raw Food Calculator: The 80/10/10 Ratio#
Feeding a Maine Coon a raw diet is one of the best things you can do for their health, but it is also the most dangerous if done incorrectly. As we discussed in our Raw Feeding Guide, getting the Calcium:Phosphorus ratio wrong can lead to serious bone defects.
The most confusing part of the “Frankenprey” model (PMc) is calculating bone content. A chicken wing is not 100% bone; it is approximately 46% bone and 54% meat. This calculator handles that math for you.
How to Use This Tool#
- Weigh your cat: Enter their current weight in lbs.
- Select your bone source: Choose the edible bone you plan to feed (e.g., Duck Neck).
- Calculate: The tool will tell you exactly how many grams of that bone item to feed, and how much pure muscle meat you need to add to balance it out.

Understanding the Results#
- Bone Source: This is the weight of the actual wing/neck.
- Muscle Meat: This is the boneless meat (chicken thigh, beef chunk, heart) you add to the bowl.
- Liver/Organ: These are critical for vitamins. Never skip them.
Disclaimer: This calculator estimates maintenance needs (3% body weight). Kittens and pregnant queens have higher caloric requirements.
